Our popular Heavyweight Karate Jacket is one of the toughest and most durable to be found. Made from 12 oz. 100% cotton it has a very firm hand, it tends to stand away from the body, allowing ventilation.
Our Heavyweight Karate Jacket conform to a classic linear shape, are full shouldered, fall straight over the hips, and are long enough to stay tucked in. They fit most male figures and some female figures and are lined with CoolMax® mesh in the shoulders and chest area to wick away moisture and reduce abrasion.
Available in sizes from x-small to xx-large and in Tall sizes (2" longer in the sleeves and jacket length).
Follow these steps to get the Bu Jin® Design Dogi that's just right for you
Specify Style
- Aikido/Kendo (white) and Kenjutsu/Iaido (black)
The Aikido/Kendo and Kenjutsu/Iaido jackets have 3/4 length sleeves to expose the wrists, and a longer "tail" that stays tucked in. The pants have reinforced knee patches.
- Karate/Kung Fu (white and black)
The Karate/Kung Fu uniforms are two inches longer in the sleeve and pant than the other styles and do not have knee patches.
Decide On Classic Cut Jacket or Women's Jacket
The Classic Cut Jacket fits most male and some female figures. The Women's Jacket is shaped and sized especially for women.
Select Pants - Zipper or Drawstring
The Zipper Pants feature a small zippered placket, soft Velcro® closure, and a comfortable, elasticized waist with a fully enclosed nylon belt and low-profile buckle.
The Drawstring Pants have a comfortable, elasticized waist with a free-sliding drawstring for a secure fit.
Specify a Fabric
Our durable 12 oz. preshrunk 100% cotton duck, one of the heaviest on the market, is specially processed to stay looking new. It tends to stand away from the body, allowing more ventilation than thinner "clingy" fabrics. The White fabric has negligible shrinkage. The Black fabric shrinks 2" to 3" in length, and dogi are cut to accommodate this.
Our mid-weight 8.5 oz. 100% cotton drill is durable and tightly woven. It has a pliable hand, but is not clingy, and it needs no breaking in period. Our 8.5 oz. dogi have minimal shrinkage. Please order your usual size, following the Size Chart below. Available in White only.

The heavyweight 12 oz. cotton is available in White or Black.
The mid-weight 8.5 oz. cotton is available in White only.
Optional: Customizations
Alterations - While our sizes fit most, it is possible that you will wish to alter the length of your dogi's sleeves or pant legs. No problem! We are happy to make any alterations to give you that perfect fit. Please email us, or call our Customer Service staff Toll Free at 1-866-444-DOGI (3644) for more details. Additional alteration charges will apply.
Full-Cut Pants - We also offer Full Cut Pants in either Drawstring or Zipper style as a custom order. Full Cut Pants are 1" larger in the waist and 3" larger in the hips. They taper to a normal cuff. Full Cut pants require a $15 customization charge. Please mention "Full Cut Pants" in the "Comments" section of the shopping cart when ordering.
