Artist Dante Lividini's newest work depicting the technique koshinage is a beautiful stand alone piece, and it is also a perfect companion to his previous work, "Balancing the Storm" , which depicts the technique kotegaeshi.
Starting with a pencil rendering done from a photo reference the original pencil was digitally painted using a Wacom Tablet and Adobe Photoshop. The technique is "koshinage" and it was meant to share the same spirit as the previous piece 'Balancing the Storm.' In this piece, lines of energy are converging on the practitioners. Where his partner had been before, Uke finds himself grasping nothing more than the final cut of Nage's entering movement. The downward, arcing sweep of Nage's cut and the simultaneous setting of his center has Uke circling over an edge that results in one of the biggest falls in Aikido practice.
This dynamic digital painting is available as a 17" x 11" poster.
